Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable individual to join our accomplished and collaborative Underwriting department. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing renewal business, analyzing changes in exposure, risk acceptability, pricing, and terms and conditions. Your evaluation will involve reviewing updated information and exposures, aligning them with our current guidelines and risk tolerance across various lines of business, with a particular focus on personal lines.


Essential Functions

  • Review policy for profitability through claims and referrals from adjusters
  • Review risk management reports to align exposure, coverage and pricing
  • Assist agents via email and telephone
  • Communicate policy changes to policyholders and agents
  • Develop relationships with agents to promote the writing of acceptable risks
  • Terminate risks that do not fit within the Company guidelines

Specifications / Requirements

  • Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable
  • Ability to work autonomously, think analytically and work ahead of renewal dates
  • Sharp organizational skills are necessary with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrate understanding of coverage offerings and pricing in alignment with company guidelines
  • Capable of fostering partnership in a fast paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-5 years’ experience in personal or commercial lines
